Enterprise value to equity value
A financial modeling exercise from Modeldrill. Solve it with a live spreadsheet grid in your browser, with Fill right and Fill down, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
For three valuation cases, bridge from enterprise value to equity value (row 10: less debt, plus cash, less minority interest), then value per share (row 11) and the upside against the current price (row 12).
What this exercise teaches
Enterprise value belongs to all capital providers. Subtracting debt and minority interest and adding cash leaves the value that belongs to shareholders.
A hint if you get stuck
Equity holders get what is left after lenders and minority holders, and they own the cash. Lock all the bridge items.
